Jim Thrower Director, Strategic Resource Valuation

Jim Thrower has more than 20 years of experience in the forestry industry. Before joining CSRD in 2006, he was president and CEO of J.S. Thrower and Associates (JST), a forestry consulting firm he founded in 1991, acting as project leader and consultant to the forest industry and government in many parts of North America and overseas.

Prior to selling his firm in 2006, JST had over 40 professional staff and was recognized as a market leader in North America in quantitative areas of forest management including biometrics, statistical analysis, inventory, timber valuation and appraisal, and computer modeling.   Earlier in his career, Thrower was a biometrician for the BC Ministry of Forests.

Thrower has a PhD in forest biometrics from the University of British Columbia and a MS and BS in Forestry from Lakehead University, Ontario.
