John Clarke

John Clarke is CEO of Nevsun Resources, a Vancouver, Canada, based gold mining company. Previously, he was a member of senior management with Ashanti Gold in Ghana.

At Nevsun, Clarke has developed corporate offices in both Mali and Eritrea. He took Nevsun from a junior exploration firm to a producing mining company while shepherding it through several very difficult years in the late 1990s and early 2000s, when the gold price was at historic lows.

Clarke holds a PhD in Metallurgy from the University of Cambridge.
